A Metal Reroof Transformation
This Washington State homeowner decided it was time for an upgrade when they ran into trouble with their old metal roof, and turned to AEP Span’s Design Span® hp metal roofing system in a 24 ga, Urban Slate to uplift the style of their home!
The expansive house was built in 1993 and sits atop the rolling hills in Kalama Washington. It originally sported a teal green metal roof, that was in need of replacement. Typically, metal roofs will last for decades if not the life of the building, however, unique conditions resulted in the premature failure of the primer below the roof’s topcoat color.
The original finish, a teal color, was selected at the time to provide a complementary hue to its surrounding environment and add to a (then) contemporary theme. The replacement of this roof not only provided an opportunity to address the aesthetic issues of the roof system but to update the style of the home for the 21st century.
